Settings

The global settings for the engine can be accessed by selecting the 'Settings' option from the Main menu.  The following options are available:

Motor Disp.

Determine whether the motor speeds are displayed in percentages of maximum speed (0.00-100.00%), or in Inches Per Minute.  This setting is global and applies to the main screen display and the manual control display.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Motor Sl.Mod

Selects the Slow Motion Mode.  This setting is global for all motors.  For more information on the Slow Motion Mode, see the Motion Modes section under Motion Control.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Backlight

Sets the backlight level, from 0-255 for the LCD.  For reduction of battery consumption.

NOTE: If you engage the "Pulse" Slow Motion Mode, LCD brightness adjustment will not be available until the DollyShield is powered off and on again.  Once pulse mode is engaged, the LCD will be set to full brightness.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

AutoDim

Sets the auto-dim timer for the LCD, in seconds.  If no buttons are pressed in this time, the LCD backlight will be turned off automatically and will turn on again once a button is pushed.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Blank LCD

Turns off LCD entirely, backlight and text display, when the AutoDim timer goes off.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Input 1

Sets the action to occur when Input 1 (Aux I/O 1, "Ring" connector) is brought LOW.  Can choose from following options:

  • Disable
    • Disables this input, nothing will happen when brought low
  • Start
    • Starts the program running
  • Stop
    • Stops the currently running program

This can be used to trigger actions from an external switch or device.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Input 2

Sets the action to occur when Input 2 (Aux I/O 1, "Tip" connector) is brought LOW.  Can choose from following options:

  • Disable
    • Disables this input, nothing will happen when brought low
  • Start
    • Starts the program running
  • Stop
    • Stops the currently running program

This can be used to trigger actions from an external switch or device.

This value is automatically saved to permanent memory and will persist between power cycles.

Reset Mem

Reset all values stored in permanent memory back to factory defaults.  Many values are automatically stored to EEPROM memory when changed, preventing the need to make common changes each time you start the MX2 DollyEngine.  If you wish to return all values back to their original defaults, select this menu option and then choose 'true' and press Enter.  After enabling this option, you will need to power cycle the MX2 controller and upon re-start all values will be restored to the original defaults.
