Hello there
First... I am no programmer, I only take pictures and I am from Norway so my english might be a little off ;-)
My name is Knut and I just ordered mx2 controller and only see one missing feature.
I see ramping is there, but it look to me like there is no settings to adjust how fast the motor should accellerate and deaccellerate. and I see there is a normal motor "brushed" with gearbox so I think this is the same as I have in my RC Car and there we have throttling and so on...
My suggestion to avoid shaking on shoot move shoot motion:
Is it possible to have the motor throttle like a wave.
1. the user can input how fast the motor should go at top speed, lets say 70%
2. how long should the motor or motion use to move, lets say 8mm per second
the motor then uses 0.5 seconds to reach 70% of the motor speed and uses 0.5sec to slow down and the shoot
I think this can be nice cause if you are in a hyrry you can make it move long and fast and eliminate shaking with the on off function like today.
I know we can set speed today but the only way to take very sharp images is to have VERY good time because it is ON OFF and not smooth movements when in shoot move shoot mode

Have you experimented with the ramping feature in the Mx2? You can specify, for an axis, how many shots to take up to full speed. If you specify a maximum # of shots, it also ramps down automatically for you. You specify the maximum speed on the main screen before you turn it to on, and then it goes to 0 speed and moves up one increment with each shot. This is as I mentioned the speed ramping or feathering.
What I miss is smoothning the moves between the shots even at full speed.
I take 100 pictures and the dolly moves 5cm between the shots at full speed.
The problem is that it has a hard start and a hard stop so the camera shakes longer than it would if it has faded out the moves

Oh, this is not quite possible due to the limited nature of the control of the motor - that is, it does not behave linearly at different speeds and attempting to do this will result in unpredictable travel.
However, there is a work-around. If you use interleaved mode (SMS), you can set the focus tap time to use as a delay between the motor stopping and the camera firing, to let the movement settle down.
The timing sequence is:

So, if you add a focus tap setting it will delay for that long after the movement before firing the camera, which will let it settle down.

Thank you very much that was just what I needed ;-)
You say it IS POSSIBLE but the feature is not there because you dont know if the motor movies 3cm or 7cm NICE ;-)
My problem is shaking and not how much the motor moves as long as it moves and does not shake or move hard.
My setup is simple: I have a button on each end of the dolly that cuts the power of the motor if it goes to long left or right.
Is it possible to add this feature but with a warning like: if you use dynamic movement the movement can vary +-3cm or so?
Can you please add this feature and I will happily test every firmware every day or 2-3 times a day for you if yu do it.
we are 3 guy's that have bought this mx2 controller and we all miss this function.
what is it used for:
We all have adbe after effects and Roy has twixtor pro.
on 3 meter we only need about 50-80 shots and the timelapse will be amazing with twixtor. this is because the only thing that is moveing is the camera and the effects we apply to the landscape like smoke, car, people, water and so on.
