nanoMoco mounted on a Nema17 stepper motor images

Posted in

There have been several threads on this forum about the great upcoming nanoMoco board. This board will make life much easier for the DIY MoCo builders. The board is small, very small. It holds the Atmega 328, a stepper driver and the opto's that you need for connecting a camera. The board is so small it should fit on the back of a Nema17 stepper motor.
Is was cold today and I didn't feel to go out; time to mount the nanoMoco board on the back of my motor that is fitted on my dolly. The adapter consists of a small 41mm x 41mm x 4mm aluminum plate. The plate is attached to the motor by replacing three of the m3 screws with larger ones. The nanoMoco board is attached with nylon m3 screws. The head of the screw is sunken into the aluminum plate. I tapped a thread in the plate for the nylon screw so that they don't turn when you fasten the nanoMoco board. I will machine two more this week and I can post more detailed images someone likes me to.
Here are three images. Note that the wired from the motor are already attached to the nanoMoco board; you cannot hardly see them anymore!

Can you show us a wide shot of the rig?

Here is a post about the dolly. That was still with the "old" electronics. I have currently switched to the nanoMoco electronics and I am very happy with it:
