MX2 motor RPM question?

Ok, I read someplace the motors that work with the MX2 DollyShield are Dayton 8.75RPM Gear Motors, spec'd at 1A draw and 656 oz/in of torque.

My question is, what would happen if I used a different gear motor that was 1A, but ran at 11RPM or even 43RPM? Could the MX2 code be tweaked to move correct distances with these RPM speeds?

I have been looking at the Anaheim Automation BDPG-36-40 series DC Motors with Planetary Gearboxes for use on my Dolly design. They have some of the BDPG-36-40-12V-5000-R100 (43RPM) in stock, but the slowest 11RPM model, BDPG-36-40-12V-5000-R369 is 10 weeks out... :(

I'm looking at these motors because they would be directly interchangeable with my 17YPG302S-LW4-R19 stepper, so I can change back and forth from the regular OMTL Engine and hardware to the MX2 depending on my needs. :)

You can definitely use any

You can definitely use any motor that's <= 1A in current draw. To configure the MX2 for your motor/gear train, check out: http://dynamicperception.com/?main_page=wordpress&page_id=216
