It took me a year and two machining courses, but it's finally ready. My first motion control project.
I have finished my dolly prototype. Well almost. The shaft/pulley connection needs some attention, but that is under control. This dolly is not perfect; I also use it to test some of the mechanical ideas that I have for future projects.

Very sweet! I like it a lot - I bet that gearbox set ya back a pretty penny though! The power plug on the bottom of the cart is a nice touch. Keeps it out of the way, and exactly where it needs to be.
Learning to machine all of that must've been a fun challenge. I still remember the first time I had a part come out as I expected from the router, I was tickled pink =)
