Hi Guys,
I am thrilled to have discovered this world.
I am coming here from building quad and microcopters.
So more electronics and RC rather than mechanical engineering or MoCo.
I run a small video production company in Wales and want to start specialising in niche high end stuff.
I have been trawling the net looking for plans, groups, ideas to build long and fast repeatable dollies. You know the type that track and follow runners on the 100m sprint!
I am a complete novice but will pick up the programming and lingo pretty quick.
Any help or ideas would be brilliant.

For high-speed, you might consider using a rack-and-pinion style drive. Of course, you're either going to want a servo or a stepper for repeatable moves. You'd need to get racks that are machined to butt up with each other to get your 100m's of track, but it's totally do-able =)
